Following

I have a stupid question:

What does it mean to "follow" someone's blog, and why should I do it?

I am just wondering....I mean, there are several blogs that I check every day.  Sometimes I leave comments, sometimes I don't.  But I read every day (or most days.....).

If I follow someone by clicking on their followers picture thing, does that mean that they'll follow me too?  If people follow me, do I need to put one of those followers picture things on my blog?  Or can someone follow me without one of those?

Just wondering.  Plus, I am not sure if I put it out there (you know, for people to actually follow me) that I would actually get any followers, and I don't want to have to deal with the rejection.  What if no one likes me?  What if I get, and then lose a follower?  It would be like middle school all over again.  And even though it was a long time ago, I do remember that feeling insecure and nervous for three years was NOT fun.

So.  Just wondering.

I know if you put that into your sidebar and they follow you it will go into their reader so they will get your updates when you post. I would follow you if you had a follow button! ;) Generally if you follow them they will follow you unless of course I guess they are so big and they just can't possibly follow everyone? Does that help?

I found your blog by accident and have thoroughly enjoyed it, especially your photos with the Canon, as it is the same camera I shoot and a lot of your pics are very good. I would definitely follow and find that most people who seek followers will follow you back...its good etiquette.

FYI Only because I just had to do it with my box but when you are on the page to get your google friend connect code make your box size 200 before you get your code and it will fit better into your sidebar. ;-)
